Local businesses, such as the pub up the road that does the best Sunday roast, or the hole-in-the-wall restaurant where you had your first date, are the backbone of the WorkClub network and the UK economy as a whole.
However, with the Coronavirus pandemic only getting worse, the UK Government has ordered everyone to stay at home and for all non-essential businesses across the country too close, leaving many businesses and employees at risk.
GiveLocally is a platform aimed to support both small and large businesses across the UK that are facing significant economic challenges due to the spreading Coronavirus pandemic.
During times of crisis, it's up to all of us to act as a support system for one another. However, under the current social distancing rules, there is only a limited number of things we can do to support local businesses such as, but not limited to: online support, keeping up to date with your subscriptions and memberships, donations, supply sharing, etc. This is how GiveLocally was born.
Over the past two years, WorkClub have built some very special relationships with our clients. Now that our clients have closed down, it’s up to us to dedicate our time and resources to supporting them. We hope that our efforts will allow them to continue to serve their communities in the future. We want to provide a creative way for our community to give back by buying gift cards and other offers that push cash in venues' hands.
GiveLocally is a free marketplace for businesses to list and sell their gift cards and vouchers - which can be redeemed when it’s safe to do so. We aim to expand our reach across the whole of the UK to help as many businesses as possible.
We’re asking our local community to give back to help save a local business. Buy a gift card today, support a local business throughout a challenging time, and use it at a later time once the Coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
We hope that GiveLocally will provide some sort of lifeline to businesses that need it, and it will allow them to continue serving their communities in the future.
This is a great opportunity to show our local business owners how much we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication. After all, we’re all in this together. Givelocally, save a business.
